Episode 2 : Bowls of Hope

As summer temperatures soar past 40°C in Chennai, stray animals face a silent struggle every day - finding clean, fresh water. While we enjoy the comfort of cool drinks and shaded rooms, thousands of street dogs, cats, and birds roam the scorching streets with little relief from the relentless heat.

Water is essential for all living beings, but for these vulnerable strays, it’s a matter of survival. Dehydration can quickly lead to severe health issues such as heatstroke, weakness, and even death. Unfortunately, many public water sources dry up or become contaminated during the hot months, leaving animals with no safe place to drink.

This is where my campaign "Bowls of Hope" steps in. We are working to place sturdy, easy-to-maintain water bowls across Chennai in parks, residential areas, and busy streets - wherever stray animals commonly gather. Each bowl provides a fresh, reliable source of water, giving these animals a fighting chance against the heat.

But our mission doesn’t stop at hydration. Any extra funds raised will go towards the daily feeding of 20 community dogs daily for 2 months, cover essential medical care like vaccinations and wound treatment, and support an emergency fund for unexpected vet expenses. These efforts not only improve their quality of life but also foster a kinder, more compassionate community.
